The Burns Park Players is one of Ann Arbor's most exciting and unique theater programs. We bring together kids, parents, friends, and neighbors from within our talented community to produce an annual musical theater production. Over its 30+ year history, we have donated more than $300,000 to arts programs in the local schools and community.

So whether you want to sit comfy in your seat and enjoy the incredible song and dance of theater's most beloved musicals, or brush off your own personal talents to bring on stage or behind the scenes, Burns Park Players invites to you explore our site and become part of our wonderful and giving theater community.

Our Vision

To serve the Burns Park Community by producing a high quality annual musical theater production which offers a unique, endearing, and low cost experience for Burns Park Elementary School Students & Parents, Adult Cast & Crew, and audience members. To generate funds for the benefit of the Burns Park Elementary School and selected school-related (outside of Burns Park) organizations.

The Burns Park Players was formed in 1984 by a small group of parents looking for a way to raise money to send sixth graders (then in elementary school) to camp. In the years that followed, the Burns Park Players have grown into an active community theater company; one that has maintained its commitment to family-oriented musical productions as well as support of the arts in local schools.

Since 1992, the Players have donated more than $300,000 to a variety of arts-related programs in the AAPS school district. In 1997, the Burns Park Players were granted non-profit status as a Federally-recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.  Here is our IRS W-9 form.  Here are our organizations By-Laws.

The Burns Park Players consists of adult members (parents, teachers, other residents) who live in the Burns Park Elementary School community (as defined by the boundaries of the school attendance area), who have a child who attends the school, or who work for the school.  Each year we join together to produce one musical show in the Winter. The elementary school age children (grades one through five) of BPP members may participate in the musical production.
